Google Meet Companion Mode: How to Improve Collaboration

Ever feel like your team isn’t collaborating quite as well as you’d like it to? While there are many other aspects of team collaboration that need attention, one way to ensure your team will be more productive and successful is by utilizing Google Meet Companion Mode, which was recently released in an update in June 2018. This article will walk you through how to set up and use Google Meet Companion Mode so you can start collaborating more effectively right away!

The 3 Main Types of Documents

There are three main types of documents that you’ll need to create when starting a business: a business plan, a pitch deck, and financial projections. A business plan is a roadmap for your business that outlines your goals and how you plan to achieve them. A pitch deck is a presentation that you give to potential investors or partners to get them excited about your business.

Financial projections are an estimate of your company’s future financial performance. It includes where the money will come from, how much it will cost to run the business each year, and what your profit margins will be. You can use tools like Excel to make these calculations quickly.

For example, if you want to calculate your monthly revenue in column B and then multiply by 12 in column C so as to show annual revenue in column D, enter this formula in cell B2: =B1*12 This method works well because we can see our estimated yearly revenue before adding in any other formulas. If we wanted to see our expected net income at the end of one year, we would type =D1*-0.06 into cell D2 (enter that formula without quotes).

In Google Spreadsheets, it’s easy to share and edit documents with others without downloading anything onto their computer. All they have to do is log into your spreadsheet on their browser and make changes to cells directly on the screen.

Setting Up A Meeting

When you set up a meeting in Google Meet, you have the option to enable Companion mode. This mode allows participants to see each other’s names and profile pictures as they would in a physical meeting. Additionally, it shows any notes that you’ve added about the meeting in the Meeting notes section of the Google Meet page. You can also add an agenda to the Meeting notes section. Once your guests arrive at the meeting, their video will be displayed on your screen. If you want to speak with them privately or mute their audio so they can’t hear what you’re saying, use Click-to-Speak or Mute Audio buttons on the toolbar at the bottom of your screen.

Screen sharing

If you’re using Google Meet for business purposes, then you know how important it is to be able to share your screen with others. After all, that’s how you’ll collaborate on projects, give presentations, and more. But what if you’re not sure how to use screen sharing? That’s where companion mode comes in.

When you open up the Google Meet app, click the three dots at the top right corner of the menu bar. Select Companion. Once you do this, a window will pop up asking whether or not to allow someone else to view your screen. Select yes or no, depending on which option works best for you.

Share your screen

In Google Meet, you can share your screen with other participants to improve collaboration. To do this, click the Share button at the bottom of your screen, then select Share Screen. A new window will open where you can select which screen or window you’d like to share. Once you’ve made your selection, click Share in the bottom-right corner of the window.

Use Your Phone or Tablet as a Remote Control (and More)

In Google Meet, you can now use your phone or tablet as a remote control. This feature, called Companion mode, lets you do things like raise your hand, add participants, and even mute yourself. Here’s how to get the most out of it.

Record Your Meeting

Recording your meeting is a great way to improve collaboration. You can refer back to the recording later to see what was discussed and make sure everyone is on the same page. Plus, recording your meeting can help you remember important details that you might otherwise forget.

Download the Files from Your Meeting

You can now download all of the files that were shared during your Google Meet meeting! This is a great way to keep a backup of all of the important information that was shared and makes it easy to refer back to later.
